Hyderabad Metro Rail operates on a standard gauge, fully electrified system with three elevated corridors powered through 25 kV, single-phase, 50 Hz overhead equipment (OHE). This ensures reliable traction power for smooth and efficient train operations. To minimize interference with communication lines, booster transformers are strategically installed along the corridors.
Receiving and Distribution Network
Overhead Equipment (OHE)
The OHE system incorporates sectioning posts, sub-sectioning posts, and paralleling posts at key intervals, facilitating safe and efficient maintenance of the traction network.
A Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) system, housed at the centralized Operation Control Centre (OCC) in Uppal Depot, continuously monitors, controls, and commands the entire power supply and traction network. This system enables real-time oversight, quick fault detection, and seamless operational control across the metro corridors.
